Heartfelt tributes have been paid to a "cherished" family GP who served over three decades at the same surgery in Swansea. Dr Stephen Pritchard died on March 22 after battling a long illness. He had worked at Ty'r Felin Surgery for 32 years and was considered a well-loved family doctor in the Gorseinon and surrounding areas.

Dr Pritchard served as a GP trainer and was a "valued mentor" who used his experience to contribute to the teaching and training of future doctors and health professionals at the surgery. In a touching tribute his colleagues have described him as a "lovely gentleman" who will be well remembered by his patients.

In a mark of respect a book of condolence has been opened for anyone who wishes to share their own memories and tributes for Dr Pritchard. It can be found in the reception area of the surgery. Get Swansea stories straight to your inbox with our newsletter.

"As a GP trainer he was a valued mentor who contributed to the teaching and training of future doctors and health professionals at Ty鈥檙 Felin. He was an important part of this surgery鈥檚 recent history in helping to maintain and improve provision of primary health care service in our local community.
